Pinboard is the main capture surface for articles, web links, PDFs, images, videos, quotes, and Quick Notes. Capture first, add a note or tag if it helps, then return when you are ready to read, organise, connect, or act.

Yes. Pages are Markdown notes, and templates can give recurring formats such as meeting notes, project briefs, reviews, and research records a consistent starting point.

Yes. Productivities Pages are ordinary Markdown files, and you can select an existing Markdown folder as your notes folder, including an Obsidian vault. Standard Markdown remains portable. Obsidian-specific plugins, themes, or custom rendering may not behave identically, so keep a backup before changing an established vault.

Core application data is stored locally. Pages are Markdown files and media can live in folders you choose, which keeps your working material accessible outside Productivities rather than hiding everything in a proprietary cloud account.

Yes. Productivities is local-first, so the core workspace remains useful without a connection. Features that call an external service, such as a cloud AI provider or a connected integration, need that service to be reachable.

No. The desktop app does not require a Productivities cloud account. Optional integrations and services are enabled only when you choose to use them.

Yes. Because Pages are files in a folder you choose, you can use your preferred backup approach. Productivities also includes optional Git support for keeping a local history or working with a remote you configure.

No. Hably and the wider AI toolset are optional. Keep AI switched off, connect a supported provider with your own key, or use a compatible local model. Your core workspace does not depend on AI.
